Mopaya Safari Lodge 8-26.2.2012
Deja 3 semaines a Mopaya, cela a passe tres tres vite, j'ai vu plein de choses, rencontre des gens super sympas, bref tout va bien, voici quelques photos !

6.1 - 2.2.2012 Mashatu, Tuli Block, South East Botswana
Quel mois ! C'etait juste nous et le bush ! Incroyable, c'est tout ce qu'il y a a dire ! Voici quelques photos pour illustrer ce commentaire !
C'est pas beau de commencer la journee avec une vue pareille ?? La riviere etait a sec lorsque nous sommes arrives, apres 2-3 bonnes pluies, cela se rempli ... mais il y avait encore de la marge avant d'avoir le camp les pieds dans l'eau !
Isn't it beautiful to start a day with such a view ? The river was completely dry as we got in Mashatu, but after 2-3 real african showers it started flowing again ... but not enough to flood the camp !
What a month !! Just us and the bush ! Amazing, that's all there is to say !!!! Here a few pictures to highlight my comment !!

My crib ! We had each a tent ! What a luxury !
And the observation spot, to see the elephants coming from far away ...
Il y a plein de zebres, gnous et impalas dans la reserve.
There are plenty zebras, wildebeest and impalas in the reserve.
Ne pas oublier les oiseaux ..... les guepiers carmins !
Don't forget the birds, carmine bee-eaters !

C'est bien connu, les elephants aiment l'eau !! Ils ne nous ont remarque qu'apres quelques secondes, c'est dire si notre approche etait bonne, malheureusement le vent tourne assez vite ! Et en plus ils ont du nez !!!
It's well known that elephants like water ! They noticed us only after a few seconds, it's to say if our approach was good ! Unfortunately le the wind turns quite quickly, and on top of it, they have quite a nose !
Il n'y a pas que des gros animaux ! De temps en temps il vaut mieux regarder ou on met les pieds ! Voici un jeune "puff Adder" (la traduction va bientot suivre ..... vipere quelque chose ...). Joli non ?
There are not only big animals around ... sometime it's worth it to watch your steps ! This is a juvenile puff-adder, beautiful no ? 
Bon ben voila, c'est tout pour cette fois !

20.12.2011 - 3.1.2012 Vilankulo, Mozambique
Il est temps maintenant de faire des vacances, et ou aller pour se reposer et se détendre ? A Vilanculos, Mozambique ! Et ou poser ses bagages ? Au Beach Village Backpackers ! www.beachvillagemoz.com
Nous avons fait du tuba, j'ai plongé pour la première fois, fait beaucoup de "rien du tout", ne sachant pas s'il faut se baigner dans la mer, dans la piscine ou rester au bar !!!! Manger beaucoup de calamars, crevettes, poissons, et aussi quelques calamars, crevettes, poissons .... oui, vous pouvez etre jaloux !!

Et voici une petite mise à jour du blog!
Après un petit break de 6 jours, nous sommes repartis pour Selati le 16.11.2011, à ce propos, voici une carte de l'Afrique du Sud ainsi que du coin ou les camps se trouvent !

After a small 6 days break, here we drove back to Selati Game reserve on 16.11.2011, here also two maps, of South Africa and of the area we are "camping" in !
Désolée, je n'arrive pas à la mettre debout ! Sorry, can't rotate it !
Au menu, orientation, télémétrie, 4x4 et cours de premier secour en brousse, ensuite pour les copains examens FGASA Field Guide Level 1 (je sais pas si je vous l'avais déja dit, mais je l'ai déja, donc pour moi, pas de stress !)
Lire une carte, tirer des "directions" (sait pas comment on dit Bearing en français !) et ensuite se diriger dans la brousse n'a plus de secret pour nous ! Et en fin de compte, le GPS est une invention fabuleuse ! pas besoin de calculer les corrections entre le pole nord et le pole nord magnétique ...... Bref, on ne s'est pas perdu.
Télémétrie, une science bien particulière (on met des traceurs GPS aux animaux, et grace à une antenne on les cherche !) ! Mais bon, cela nous a permis de localiser ce joli chat, donc il y a une utilité !
On the menu, orientation, telemetry, 4x4 and wilderness first aid course, then for my team-mates FGASA Field Guide Level 1 exams (I'm not sure if I already told you this, but I have my certificate already, so no stress for me !)
To read a map, set bearings and then go in the right direction and find what we are looking for is not a secret for us anymore ! And I must add that GPS is a fabulous invention ! no need to calculation magnetic to real north corrections and so on ! We didn't get lost and found our way back to the camp !
Telemetry, a special science ! (you put an GPS implent in animals, and then thank to an antenna you locate them again !) But anyway it may be quite usefull as we found this nice kitty cat thank to it !

Les 4 jours de cours de premier secours de brousse étaient très intéressants, j'ai restocker ma trousse de premier secours et sais maintenant quoi faire lors des piqures de scorpions !!!!!!!!!!!
The 4x4 driving has no secret for us anymore ....... low range, 2nd gear and go ! These Landrovers are quite good (when they don't have breakdowns !)
The 4 days of wilderness first aid were very interesting, I have now restocked properly my first aid kit and now I know what to do for scorpion stings !!!!!

Enfin des tentes avec nos propres toilettes et douche ! Quel luxe ! Le certifcat de tir est plutot difficile à avoir, je l'ai raté du reste ! Mais nous avons encore une possibilité de le repasser fin janvier. Je vais donc devoir m'exercer, car ma suissitude ma ratrappée, je suis trop lente ! En effet, les exercices sont chronométré et votre serviteuse met dans le mille, mais pas assez rapidement ! En bref, si le lion ou l'éléphant est un peu handicapé, j'ai le temps de l'abattre ! After the exams which almost everyone passed brilliantly, we went north ! On the 7th Decembre: Makuleke, private concession in the far north of the Kruger National Park. Programm: Advanced Rifle Handling
We have a bit of luxury with big tents with our own shower and toilet ! The rifle certificate is quite difficult to get ... I failed .... But we still have an opportunity to pass in end of January. I will need to exercise ! My Swissness catched me ! I'm to slow ! The exercices must be done within a certain timeframe, so I usually shoot quite in the middle of the target but need too much time ! To put it simple: if the lion of elephant charging me is handicaped, I have time to put him down ! If he is fit and hungry .......... Enjoy you meal !

10.11.2011 - 16.11.2011 6 days break ! Back in Joburg !!
Et voila, les premieres 7 semaines sont ecoulees ! Il est temps d'avoir un petit break d'une semaine, histoire de voir autre chose que le bush ! Je suis de retour a Johannesburg, tout va bien, c'est toujours aussi anime ! Voici quelques photos ......

Karongwe 29.10.2011
Ca y est, nous sommes à Karongwe ! Nous avons été transferé le 20 octobre en 4x4 ouvert depuis la réserve de Selati jusqu'a la réserve de Karongwe, 40km, 2 heures ! C'est comme ça l'afrique du sud ! Tout le monde apprécie le confort du camp, nous avons de grandes tentes avec des lits !! Et non plus des matelas parterre ! Yes !
Changement de scène, ici il y a du gibier ! Et du gros ! Bien que nous n'ayons pas encore vu d'éléphants, (cela ne saurait trader), nous avons vu des guépards, léopards (2 dans la même journée, tu parles d'une veine !), lions en pleine action (et c'est pas de la chasse que je parle) rhinos blanc, tortue léopard, scorpion, chaméléons. Nickel !!
Nous avons fait une jour de "bird watching" ! Et avons vu 68 oiseaux différents, je vous épargne la liste, mais si vous la voulez, je me ferai une joie de vous la faire parvenir !
Côté température, cela monte, cela monte ! Nous avions environ 40 degrés cette semaine, et enfin il a plu ! De beaux orages pendant la nuit, on entend le tonnerre à des kilomètres à la ronde (ainsi que les babouins!), et le matin, il pleuvine quelques heures avant que le soleil ne remette de l'ordre dans tout ca ! et hop, la température reprends de l'altitude !!
Côté moral des troupes, tout va bien, nous avons eu les premières tensions, mais je suppose que c'est normal, des petits clans se forment, mais pour l'instant rien de bien méchant ! Une fois sorti de son petit confort l'humain devient un peu irritable ! Donc rien de tel qu'un jour off comme aujourd'hui pour détendre l'atmosphère !
Le temps passe vite ! déja 1 mois et demi que le cours a commencé ! dans 10 jours nous avons nos premières "vacances" ! C'est donc de Johannesburg que le prochain update sera fait !!

Here we go, we moved from Selati to Karongwe game reserve on 20th Octobre 2011, by mean of open land rover, 40 km, 2 hours, this is how it is in south africa ! We all enjoy the camp really much, it's more comfortable, the tents are huge ! And we even have beds ! Yes !
Change of scenary as well, even if we are still so close to Selati, there is much more game around here (commercial lodge !). Even if we didn't see any elephants yet, there are quite a few things .... Cheetas, white rhino, lions, leopard (yes ! and even two on the same day ... talking about getting lucky !!), leopard tortoise, chameleons, etc ....
We did a day of bird watching ! We got 68 different birds ... not bad ! And much more interesting than trees !!!!
Weatherwise, we had some peaks at around 40 degrees ...... and at least the rain came ... nice thunderstorms again, we could hear the thunder kilometers away, and then after the last drops in the early morning, the suns comes again and everthing is dry within minutes !
On the social side, we had the first tensions in the group, some smaller clans appeared, but nothing serious, and quite normal I suppose. Take people out of their comfort zone and they get a bit sensible I suppose. Today is a day off again, it will certainly do good to us, seeing something else for a day than the same faces !
Time flies, it's already been a month and a half since the training started ! In 10 days we have our first break ! It will from Johannesburg that I will update you next time !
