31.7.2010 Twyfelfontein - Spitzkoppen (via Henties Bay) 378 km

Au petit matin toutes les petites tentes autour des camions 4x4  ont été pliées en silence, leurs occupants sont remontés dans les camions, et les camions sont partis ..... pratiquement sans un bruit ! Nous prenons la direction de Henties Bay. Trajet sans histoire, juste un petit dépannage, respectivement nous poussons une voiture en panne, elle redémarre et arrive au prochain bled bien avant nous ! La voiture était certainement protégée par les esprits des garages ! Les derniers 100 km sont ... tout droit ! Avec en image de fond un ciel gris, très gris ! La température descend franchement lors des 20 derniers kilomètres, le soleil a disparu ! On arrive dans Henties Bay, ici les gens portent bonnets et manteaux !! Nous nous arrêtons au bord de la mer, il faut froid ! Nous décidons de repartir à l'intérieur des terres, là ou il faut chaud et beau ! Direction Spitzkoppe ! 100 km de route toute droite de nouveau ! C'est aux Spitzkoppe que je voulais revenir faire du camping ! L'endroit est tellement fabuleux ! Tous mes compagons de voyages sont également subjugués par l'étrange beauté de l'endroit ! DINGUE !

The overland trucks left this morning with a minimum of noise ! We pack as well and go to Henties Bay, we are not sure where out next stop should be ! We "push" a car on our way, the guys cannot start their car anymore, so we push it, he get started and was faster then us in the next village ! Nobody would have bet on this ! The last 100 km are ... straight ... the sky in the back is grey, very grey ! The temperature drops down during the last 20 km .. no sun anymore ... As we get to Henties Bay, we are in an other country, people wear coats and beannies ! We stop by the beach, it is cold ! We decide to go back where it's warmer ! Let's go to Spitzkoppe ! 100 km of straight road again ! Two years ago, as I went to the Spitzkoppe I decided to get back here camping once ! So here we go ! The area is just magic, my friends are also charmed by the place. AMAZING !
