Le reveil est difficile, les nuits sont fraiches dans cette partie de la namibie, 1650m d'altitude ! Notre petit déjeuner pris, nos tentes pliées, nos valises et tout le matériel dans la voiture, nous faisons nos adieux a Penny. Les KM de piste défilent comme à leur habitude. Petit arret revitaillement a Aus, on en profite pour faire un changement de chauffeur et nous reprenons la route, fini la piste nous retrouvons l'asphalte. 15h nous arrivons a Hobas, petit enca sur la terrasse du camping et nous voila parti direction "main view point" of the canyon. Le fish River et le second plus grand canyon apres le grand canyon du Colorado. On s'installe sur la terrasse et attendons le coucher du soleil en compagnie de quelques touristes. Petit info interressante pour tous les amoureux de nature et de randos : il est possible de descendre dans le canyon et de rejoindre Ai Ais en 5 jours de marche le long de la rivière. Nous l'avons noté dans notre "to do" liste encore une bonne raison pour retourner en Namibie.
Nights are quite cold at 1650 m height ! After a breakfast we pack everything, say goodbye to Penny and leave. We stop in Aus to buy a few things, switch drivers and hit the road again ! It's a tared road now ! We arrive in Hobas around 15h00, have a light meal and go the view point. The Fish River Canyon is the second (or third) biggest canyon in the world, after Colorad's Grand Canyon. We wait for the sun to go down, a few tourists are here as well. For those who like hiking and nature, there is a nice hiking trail down the canyon, 90 km from Hobas to Ai-Ais along the river, takes around 5 days, you carry all you need as there is nothing in the canyon ! Some of us noted this down in their "to do list", another reason to come back to Namibia !
